Quality Control Manager
CurrentFrom October 2017 until January 2021 worked as the Concrete Production Manager and from January 2021 until present worked in the role of Quality Control Manager. The responsibilities of the Concrete Production Manager were to develop, maintain, and implement, new and existing concrete mix designs as well as manage the precast batch plants and lab. In this role there were opportunities to take projects from creation to erection, whilst working alongside estimators, project managers, laborers, and quality control inspectors. There were also the occasions to interact with clients and architects in order to develop custom mixes to meet their unique requirements. The goals of this position were to reduce concrete waste, and produce under competitive budgets. The duties of the Quality Control Manager were to manage the department, and ultimately ensure the quality of work produced met the specification of PCI, CPCI, and those of the clients. There were regular interactions with the engineering, project management, and other management teams, to ensure the highest quality of work was produced. The goals of this position were to ensure that strict tolerances for fabrication were meet, while keeping to a tight production schedule
Graduate Teaching Assistant
During the academic year of 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Classes that were TAed are Concrete Technology, Soil Mechanics 1, and Pavement Design. The tasks involved with the teaching assistant position for Concrete Technology in both the fall term of 2015 and 2016 were to aid and consult students with their mix designs, mixing, and testing. Tests that were conducted are slump test, air content, compressive strength, density, surface resistivity, and bulk resistivity. Other tasks were the invigilating of midterms and exams, as well as the marking of labs and assignments.During the winter term of 2016 TAed Soil Mechanics 1. The role of this position was to aid in labs such as Atterberg and plastic limits, specific gravity, sieve analysis, hydrometer analysis, proctors, hydraulic conductivity, consolidation, and direct shear. Other tasks were to invigilate the exam and mark tutorials.In the winter term of 2017 TAed for Pavement Design. The role of this position was conduct labs with students, mark assignments and labs, and give lectures when needed. Lab experiments that were conducted are sieve analysis, flat and elongated particles, fractured surfaces, specific gravities and maximum specific gravity of asphalt concrete samples, and indirect tension strength.
Summer Research Assistant
During the summer, duties are to aid professors and PhD students with their research. The main roles that are played are working in the concrete and mortar labs making and testing samples under the guidance of the professors and PhD students. Other tasks are to help the technologists with there work.
