Served as the senior enlisted advisor to the Company Commander. I was appointed to oversee port operations for trans-Atlantic movement, successfully loading over 235 pieces of military equipment, including Bradley Fighting Vehicles and Abrams Tanks, with no damages or losses. While serving in this position I assisted Soldiers with personal and professional needs, helping them grow professionally and supporting them as they continued their civilian and military education.

As an Operational Advisor I planned and executed global missions that required me to embed with Army units to gather real time observations of their units. I shared those observations across various levels of Senior Army Leadership in written reports, PowerPoint presentations, or Microsoft Excel documents. In this position I worked remotely both stateside and overseas, using various means of communications, including video chat programs.

As a Platoon Sergeant I was responsible for the health and welfare of a 42 person Heavy Weapons Platoon. In addition to the Soldiers, I was responsible for the maintenance and employment of 5 HMMWVs. I advised the Platoon Leader and tactics and techniques for the employment of the platoon and their overall capability. During this time, I completed my third combat deployment to Afghanistan, during which, my platoon was responsible for the security of American advisors to the Afghan National Army.

Camp Red Cloud, South Korea

As an operations NCO, I was responsible for a 13 person section consisting of both NCOs and Officers, as well as 4 Korean Augmentee Soldiers. I over saw a section that assisted the subordinate Brigades with securing land, ammunition, schools, and travel for their Soldiers, understanding their needs and how to meet them. Our section was also responsible for providing the Division Commander with a forward tactical operation center, in order to facilitate accurate accountability of units and personnel that were geographically separated.

As a Drill Sergeant I was responsible for assisting a 60-person platoon as they transitioned from civilians to Soldiers. It was my responsibility to gain the trust of the new Soldiers and develop trust amongst the platoon. Drill Sergeants are responsible for the health, welfare and safety for those personnel as they begin to learn how the Army works and caring for them even after the training stops. The Drill Sergeant develops the base line of trust that those Soldiers need for success and should expect when they arrive at their first unit.
