The 18th Judicial District CYDC Programs are committed to assisting, advocating for, and supporting families through the judicial process by supervising, assessing, and connecting to ongoing services, in order to provide an alternative to detention which will ultimately reduce recidivism and long term involvement in the juvenile justice system. Daily activities include supervising pre-adjudicate youth who are currently on bond in the community and reporting information back to the Court in a timely manner.Constantly assessing needs of families/youth to ensure appropriate therapeutic supports are implemented to address present concerns. When concerns arise, work with the families/youth to deescalate and solve problems. Consult with professionals throughout several different organizations/agencies to ensure a collaborative approach is being utilized and all agencies are working towards similar goals. Visit youth in a secure detention setting to create a safety/supervision plan to provide additional support upon release. In extreme circumstances, notify the Court/District Attorneys Office that the youth/family has violated the terms and conditions of his/her bond and recommend a Failure to Comply Warrant be issued.
