Hello my name is Michael Lindley, I am a History Graduate with a 2:1 BA (Hons) currently residing in Wakefield. My degree focused on the broad study of modern history ranging from Tudor England all the way to the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991. In addition, the skills gained study of history does provide many advantages to many scenarios both in a person’s every day and professional life. Amongst these are strong written communication skills, the ability to attain specialist knowledge on large bodies of material, being able to evaluate facts and opinions critically and logically without bias as well as confidence to undertake self-learning while making optimal use of time and resources. In my fledgling career so far I have worked for Microform Ltd in the Publishing and Document Management sector. The main skills showcased were the ability to meet deadlines in a high workload environment, use of ICT, record keeping skills, communication skills and being able to innovate and expand on existing systems and practices. I have also undertaken Temporary work after leaving this role predominantly with Pullman Fleet Services were I worked as an Invoice Coder for around 9 months before starting work at New Day Ltd last Autumn. My Current role as an Underwriter for New Day Ltd has seen me work on expanding my skill set further as while still retaining the use of the various Data Entry and Admin skills I refined at the last role, I also have been working on adding more customer service strings to my bow. In particular I pride myself on how I conduct myself with our clients in a way that maintains the integrity of the business with a fair and honest manner. My careers aims at the present are to continue evolving my skillset in role that maximizes my strengths while developing new skills and techniques particularly in a data management, analysis and problem solving.
