Senior Systems Administrator
CurrentAct as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) and serve as a technical resource to manage a 100 user networkincluding servers, switches, and user machines. Maintain hardware and software systems, to include patching and troubleshooting connectivity or access challenges; support IA data calls; review system logs for potential issues requiring resolution; provide customer support for supported systems; perform user account management functions; maintain configuration control and configuration processes for adding / modifying systems; support IA activities to include system patching, POA&M review and mitigation, and (re)accreditation efforts. Responsible for assisting and making recommendations on the design, implementation, and management of configuration changes to the network.• Modify existing continuity of operations plan to include mitigation steps, estimated time of repair,estimated cost of repair, and recommendations based on industry standards and personal experience• Evaluate existing servers to determine which servers are compliant with cyber security standards andbest practices• Suggest and implement improved policies and procedures that would allow systems to be compliant with cyber security best practices• Determine potential bottlenecks within the server and network infrastructure and proposerecommendations to alleviate these bottlenecks• Propose recommendations on updating the layout of the server room to include power requirements and rack space for servers and switches for future growth as well as address safety concerns• Train and mentor junior systems administrators on information technology best practices as well assystems administration tasks
