I am a team oriented ecosystems researcher with a major focus on the systemic ecological interactions from the local to landscape scale. I try to set milestones and directions for sustainable development of European and international landscape development, agriculture and food production, aiming at increased provision of ecosystem services. Through an inter- and trans-disciplinary approach, involving collaborations cutting across disciplines, sectors, institutions and countries, I organize my work with a holistic perspective in order to fully understand ecological and production processes and to find systemic root causes of problem situations. Once identified, I specifically adderess these root causes and their dynamics within their broader system in order to find viable solutions together with stakeholders and decision makers.
