Consulting to a global leader in food service packaging, specifically to their Thin Paper (bags, wraps & straws) Division, to sharpen strategic thinking, accelerate manufacturing capabilities and provide direct support to their global growth plans to increase capacity.

For Spills is a recent entry to the floor cleaning and spill 'busting' environment. Their 'Greasebuster' product is truly unique and is now offering foodservice restaurants and healthcare trusts an innovative and entirely sustainable way of clearing floor spills quickly and making the area immediately safe from slips.

Initially established and ran an Import Factoring business within the Smith Anderson Group, focussed on Asian supplied polythene bags. Formally joined in 1996 (Jan) and then acquired increased responsibilities within the Packaging Company as Operations Director and eventually Managing Director in 2004. Continued growth was compromised by sister company (a paper mill) falling into receivership (2006) and a number of challenging years were then rewarded with 10 years of successful growth with healthy profits and increased revenue. An innovative and creative attitude drives added value and reliable margin. Relocated the entire company across 2011 & 2012 to a new site in Kirkcaldy. Became CEO in 2011. Retired from this role at 60 in 2022, to pursue other opportunities.

Recruited to head up a new start with a partner (Technical Director) financed by a Canadian business. Significant growth in 12 months to £1.2m. Strategic 'initiative' by the Group to consolidate and control speed of growth did not align with my personal aspirations. (parted company amicably in 1995)

A 2 year graduate management scheme then resulted in a two year posting to Tokyo, Japan where I learnt to speak, read & write Japanese. Became Regional Director (Sales) - Asia Pacific and ran sales & marketing activity across Asia and the Indian sub-Continent. (Covered sales in the North America for a year too)
