PresidentSuccessfully completed my term as Wheeling/Prospect Heights Chamber of Commerce. Lead search committee to hire the new chamber executive. Provided on-boarding, direction and guidance to the new Executive Director. Lead redevelopment of the organization's committees to establish goals, accomplish tasks and create a sustainable succession of leadership for the chamber. With the executive director, created the BOD's first board development 1/2 day seminar. Currently serve as Past President on the Executive Committee, chair of the President's Circle, member of the marketing and ambassador committees.

As president in 1997, I reorganized and structured the Chamber organization for future growth. Worked with the executive director to refocus committee’s goals and objectives. Since my term ended, the committees continue to be instrumental in the Chamber’s continuing success. Attended all committee meetings during term as president.•Developed a five-year marketing plan with executive director, Vision 2000, though a focus group of Chamber board members. The group defined goals and objectives for each committee for the next five years.•Conceptualized and implemented with the executive director the Chamber’s Grand Opening planning guide. Members request this to help them plan a Grand Opening. Program brought in new members and increased the chamber and its member’s visibility in the local media through press releases. Guide received most creative program award at a convention of chamber of commerce executive directors.

In my final two years, served as Treasurer managing the organization's cash flow and budget. Developed the organization's first budgeting process and annual budget passed by the Board of Directors. The process established financial income goals for the organization's income centers and promoted better fiscal control for expenses. Also served as Chair of the organization's Annual Symposium for 2 years, and as chair of the Sponsorship Committee. Successfully solicited the organization's first $10,000 sponsor.

As a commission member I made recommendations to the Niles Village Board of Trustees requests for zoning variations for residential homes, recommended ordinance changes to the Village code in the areas of housing and commercial construction, special use permission for businesses, and other requests made by the Niles Village Trustees.
