The risk assurance department of MTN, one of the largest telecommunication companies in Africa, had a large issue when it came to the accuracy and processing of data for both small scale clients and large enterprise clients. This issue was costing them hundreds of millions of rand a year and MTN wanted to test if this problem could be solved using blockchain technology. I was then contracted by them to build a proof of concept over 8 weeks that would solve this issue.We built a Blockchain application on Hyperledger Fabric that only allowed certain parties to enter information on the system at certain points in the data process. This information therefore became append-only and so all entires could be identified by the particular party that entered them.At the end we presented our solution to a group of MTN Employees as well as executives which received an extremely positive response! They are now looking to implement phase 2 of the project
