Currently a student at the University of Southampton studying for a PhD having completed a masters in physics. My PhD involves a heavy focus on both machine learning and neural network techniques as well as laser machining and beam shaping.Outside of my degree, I have an interest in programming, microcontrollers, and scuba diving, combining into a project to build a fully functional dive computer. I have also help a number of positions within the universities dive club, including the lead instructor, dive officer, and currently the president.I am the President the Sub Aqua Club as well as being involved in a number of other societies.In 2015 I became a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor and soon after qualified with BSAC as well. Since then I have worked at the military's main Sub Aqua centre and also became the lead instructor of the university branch (SUSAC). I have now taken the role of Diving Officer, meaning that I am ultimately responsible for ensure that all diving conducted by members of the branch is safe and with their limits.

During this time I worked on both on the front desk and as a guide in the water.On the front desk I would have regular contact with the public meaning that I had to have good communication skills in order to attract customers.For the diving I would often be taking people for the first time in the water meaning that I had to be reassuring and enthusiastic to ensure that they were comfortable and would want to dive again.
