My name is Michael Dent (a.k.a. mmd). I am a Professorial Teaching Fellow at Sunway Business School. I am originally from Edinburgh but now live in Kuala Lumpur with my Wife and cats I & II.I have spent most of my working career within the Travel and Logistics industries. Current skill set primarily based upon strategic marketing and complex international project management. Strong team building, communications and cross-cultural skills having worked in Brussels, Miami, London and Kuala Lumpur.I initially trained as a systems analyst, I hold a research degree in Economics from London Business School and an MBA. My PhD was in Management Philosophy applying an Action Research methodology within a Critical Theoretical framework. My industrial experience was as a senior Marketeer in a variety of international organisations specialising in Segmentation, Pricing, Branding and Product Development. But I have also worked as a Paper Boy, an Ice cream salesman at Chelsea FC, a Fish and Chip shop server, and a Barman. I can fly aeroplanes, scuba-dive, practice Karate and climb hills, sadly none of them particularly well. My main research interests are in the fields of Islamic Marketing, Management Philosophy and Cultural aspects of Marketing.
