Quality Engineer for mobile phones at Samsung, I helped improve Samsung’s CSI and help Samsung certified repair centers achieve their targets and KPIs by investigating and analysing all data on all repairs completed and returns of newly released models into the market. Offering service centers in South Africa and Africa support on technical queries. Provide training to technicians, students and lecturers, improve processes and report all findings, recommendations and changes to head office and Samsung Head Quarters.

Conduct and manage a technical team to investigate all returned newly released models into the market at all the major networks in South Africa. This was to ensure no quality issues caused during manufacturing. Analysis of data and physical units from all over the country to determine root cause if any and suggest solutions. In this role not only did I conduct onsite audits but also provided training to new auditors on the technical investigations and reporting process while managing all stakeholders at the major networks on findings. This role was key in preventing necessary returns which would otherwise fall on the cost of Samsung.

Inspection of all new and customer returned models released on to the market at all the major networks through out South Africa. I managed to half the inspection process speed by 50%, which was a very manual process at the time, by means of creating a simple excel spreadsheet that would read the products serial number, determine warranty based on the serial number and then also based on the fault, automatically insert all necessary fault codes which was one of the reasons I was later made a permanent employee in my career.Reporting on any trends found, finding solutions and communicating all findings to Samsung head office and HQ for improved local and international quality improvements. Negotiating with all major networks regarding findings found.
