Working on a three month long video preservation project for the National Library of Scotland’s Moving Image Archive, funded by the BFI.Searching through thousands of films to identify candidates of at risk unique video formats to be put forward for digitisation.Carefully cataloguing thousands of film records using Filemaker Pro software, quickly and accurately inputting information across a range of video formats.Researching content of video collections as per the specification of the BFI’s guidelines for the ‘Heritage 2022’ project. This includes considering and scoring areas such as; technological remarkableness, condition, historical and cultural significance, diversity and audience appeal.Working to tight deadlines to input a vast amount of metadata and information to meet timescales of project.Physically checking and selecting video material from NLS master vaults, adhering to best practice and safety policy at all times.

Kelvin Hall, Glasgow

Public-facing role assisting visitors to access NLS digital collections and The Moving Image Archive at the Kelvin Hall. Curating content from our collections and programming sell-out film screenings on topics including 'Adverts from the Archive' and 'Films of Protest and Activism'.Curating content for social media and blog writing. Delivery of a regular workshop helping members of the general public access our film collection. Facilitation of highly-rated tours and community group visits including working with older adults.Competent in collections management software for retrieval of items using Filemaker software.Regular initiation of partnership working on new projects - most recently with Glasgow Life, Glasgow Museums and Refugee Survival Trust for an event as part of Refugee Festival Scotland.

North Lanarkshire Archives, Motherwell

Outreach and Engagement archives trainee with Scottish Council on Archives / North Lanarkshire Archives, based at the Heritage Centre in Motherwell. Part of the 'Skills for the Future programme'Designed, curated and project managed 'The Robin Marwick Collection' exhibition of football archives at Summerlee Museum (February to March 2016) alongside online gallery of digitised images. Gained large number of visitors to the exhibition, online hits and favourable press coverage for the collection. Involved in social media promotion of the collection. Praised in Culture NL's annual report. I wrote press releases,descriptions of items in the collection and linked this with a wider social history to create buzz around the collection. Photographed items in the collection for social media promotion. Designed and hosted open day afternoon for #internationalarchivesday and hosted drop-in afternoon at Summerlee Museum of Industrial Life. I also catalogued and preserved this vast and wonderful collection of football archives.Involved in training in archives skills and day-to-day experience of working in the archive and museums sector. Involved in working to help visitors to the Heritage Centre research local and family history both in person and via email and telephone. Dealt with enquiries from all over the world regarding ancestry and industrial history.Ran social media account documenting my year as a trainee. Involved in community art projects across Glasgow whilst being assisted in training, skills development and mentoring by Impact Arts.Involved in schools music projectTaught photography project and designed subsequent exhibition for 'People of the River', a community based project with older adults from the Govan area. Involved in planning, promotion and curation of end of course exhibition 'Diverse-City' alongside 9 other artists doing the programme. This featured a live performance of my music and visuals and an exhibition of 16 of my photographs at The Barrowlands Art and Design Centre in March 2015.
