Mike spends his time three ways: 1.) Working on large or special customer bids. Activities include working with sales to define what we are selling and defining an end to end fulfillment strategy. 2.) Power Infrastructure and Power Distribution Units (PDUs) - Providing thought leadership for the many customer requests for custom or special PDUs and/or unique PDU wiring. Work directly with customer or sales team to identify the most optimized power solution. 3.) Leadership in racking and power for IBM and Special projects.

Mike served as a senior packaging engineer and the team lead for a small group of engineers. Activities included setting up and running a packaging lab along with designing/maintaining packaging for electronics equipment including servers, racks and parts. Mike would work closely with extended team in Mexico to introduce new packaging to vendor and internal manufacturing.

During Mike’s time in IBM Systems Development, he worked on a variety of projects including mechanicals for many PCI adapters and Drawer development. However, his most influential projects were implementing and co-architecting Appliance and Integrated Solutions. Mike would work closely with a variety of software architects whom often were not familiar with how to define, structure, and implement a new solution. Mike would take their vision and translate or release it into something that could be built and sold by IBM.
