Notable achievements including researching and developing donor-facing materials for the largest monetary gifts in OHSU's history, including the initial $500 million challenge pledge from Phil and Penny Knight that catalyzed more than $1 billion in cumulative support for cancer research at OHSU; a prior $100 million gift from the Knights that established and named OHSU's cancer institute in their honor; a $125 million Knight gift establishing an institute of cardiovascular medicine; a $100 million bequest for cancer research ultimately fulfilled during the donor's lifetime; $25 million proposals to establish new research centers for developmental health and pancreatic disease; and a $20 million fund promoting basic science innovation university-wide.
