Business Development and deal evaluation In Williston and DJ Basins

• Working with Business development team to generate ideas and evaluate potential transactions in multiple basins and plays with limited public data.• Provide inputs for financial and engineering models.• Present relevant technical information to upper management for potential transactions.

• Lead Geologist on development team with counterparts in Land, Reservoir, Drilling and operations in Williams, and McKenzie Counties, ND. • Well planning: Working with Reservoir on optimal spacing, overseeing geosteering operations, and providing input for frac design. • Tying well performance data to geological and engineering data.• Working with completions engineers with Gopher models to optimize frac design.• Saltwater disposal well planning and permitting.• Overseeing and setting up coring and wireline logging operations.• Basic core description with an emphasis on tying the rock to wireline logs for better correlations and maps.• Working with Whiting’s in-house core lab and geo-services group to better understand OOIP vs movable oil on a county scale as it relates to variable geology.• Involved in acquisitions and bids in and around operational areas of responsibility.• Facilitating data trades with other operators in the Williston Basin.• Working with the petrophysics department to QC and fine tune the petrophysical models for numerous petroleum systems in the Williston Basin.• Exploration up and down hole of the Bakken Petroleum system using wireline logs, mud logs, 2d and 3d seismic data set to build maps.• Presenting Quarterly updates with team to management

• Responsible for geo-steering two of Kodiak's seven drilling rigs. (Personally involved in over 100 long lateral wells from Spud to TD and watched up to 5 rigs at a given time for sort intervals).• Heavily involved in the design and implementation of Kodiak's Geo-Steering Program. (Personally less than 4% of wells steered had sidetracks as a result of geologic interpretation.)• Working with drilling engineers to more effectively and efficiently drill wells.• Working with completions engineers on frac stage placement.• Planning and permitting activities for future wells and pad locations.• Testifying to the North Dakota Industrial Commission as an expert witness in matters of geology to modify and create field rules.• Property evaluation and production analysis.• Training / mentoring new Geology personnel.• Geologic mapping on both regional and local detail scales using LMRK GeoGraphix Discovery.• Attend Colorado School of Mines Bakken/ Three Forks Consortium meetings.• Involved in Kodiak’s well spacing pilot programs in Smokey and Polar Prospect areas. Exposed to Core and Micro Seismic data sets.• Saltwater disposal well planning.• Detailed exploratory evaluation of up-hole unconventional resource potential the Williston Basin.

• Detailed reservoir characterization using sequence stratigraphy for the purpose of locating bypassed pays, in-fill drilling locations, improving water flood efficiency, construction of 3-D geomodels necessary for reservoir modeling, and preparing for future chemical flood projects.• Geologic mapping, cross-section construction and prospect generation for stratigraphic and structural traps for horizontal and vertical drilling using Petra. • Horizontal well planning, and basic geosteering. • General well site geological work, including mud logging, core collection and description, and overseeing wireline logging operations.• Basic volumetric and economic analysis for drilling using log calculated So values, core data, maps and historical production. • Planning and implementation of the chemical flood projects (ASP and CDG) in Pennsylvanian and Mississippian reservoirs. • In charge of adding to and improving the quality of our Petra database by acquiring logs from various sources, and employing Arc GIS and GPS equipment.

Taught introductory level Geology lab to undergraduate students and assisted professors with test administration and grading.

Environmental site assessments and remediation work involving both technical report writing and field data collection. Technical reports ranged from compliance documents to regulatory agencies to site reports for clients. Field work primarily involved site inspections, soil sample collection, and groundwater sample collection as well as soil boring descriptions and monitoring well installations using established methodologies.

Assisted graduate students and survey personnel in the execution of both P and S-wave seismic surveys for the purpose of mapping bedrock topography and paleo-river channels.
