Category lead for the White Rose CCS EPC procurement event. Responsible for the buying team leading category strategy development & sourcing strategy execution to procure EPC contracts with offshore and onshore contractors to build the carbon transportation and storage assets.Key Achievements---------------------------Created National Grid’s first CCS Category Strategy to inform an end to end value chain for multiple technology areas (i.e. onshore pipeline, offshore pipeline, jacket & topside). Conducted worldwide market analysis using appropriate analytical tools to identify suitable contractors to engage. Detailed contracting norms in the Oil & Gas industry to inform the contracting strategy.Designed a RFP process that combined the flexibility of private sector sourcing with the Utilities Contract Regulation obligations of public sector sourcing. This ensures the procurement process meet requirements set out by the Department for Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and the needs of the White Rose project.

One of two buyers executing the NEMO interconnector sourcing event managing the process from supplier submissions to negotiations on behalf of National Grid and the Belgian electricity transmission system operator Elia.Key Achievements---------------------------Led pricing negotiations for the UK and Belgium converter stations with EPC contractors. Mapped out negotiation approaches factoring in contractual positions, risk and price to ensure the best contractual arrangement for both companies.Contributed to OFGEM’s interconnector cap and floor regime providing data analysis on market pricing on interconnectors from supply base so the appropriate commercial regime could be set.

The lead buyer responsible for executing all sourcing events related to gas National Transmission System (NTS) pipeline construction works and associated telemetry delivering £2m+ of savings. I also held responsibility for procurement of all new infrastructure projects at National Grid Grain Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) facility.Key Achievements---------------------------Responsible for creating the Pipeline Construction category strategy obtaining company sign-off from senior project managers and commercial managers on the procurement approach for all future NTS pipeline construction projects.Buyer for the sourcing of Grain LNG Road Tanker Loading Facility (RTLF) capital infrastructure achieving substantial cost reduction via Value Engineering activities with the supply base.
