Michael Majurski is a research computer scientist at National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) with a MS in Information Systems from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. His research has two categories. 1) AI for Metrology, where AI systems are used to extract measurements from scientific datasets. 2) Metrology for AI, where the AI systems themselves are evaluated to understand system behavior, performance, and weaknesses. Michael leads the Trojan Detection in AI (TrojAI) test and evaluation program at NIST. He co-chairs the US AI Safety Institute (US AISI) Consortium working group on Safety and Security. Within the NIST SURF and Pathways programs Michael often mentors young researchers in AI and ML topics. Michael is currently working on a PhD in AI at University of Maryland, Baltimore County in the field of semi-supervised learning and language grounding of models.
