Nondestructive Testing Level Iii Process Engineer
CurrentRESPONSIBILITIES:Nondestructive Inspection (NDI) is the process of evaluating the properties of a material, component or system to determine future usefulness without causing damage. A Level III ensures the highest level of standards are met. They approve of any deviations from established NDI processes prior to implementation; Have both the responsibility and the authority to suspend the operation when out of approved tolerance, safety issues, violations of technical data or other condition that could result in quality deficiencies.; Are responsible for workload activation, process improvement, strategic and tactical planning, spec writing and cost-effective readiness.; Subject matter expert to manage all aspects of the NDI program to include:• Provide technical expertise to Cognizant Engineers, leadership and inspectors• Evaluate/Develop/Approve technical procedures• Participate in policy decisions & reviews• Identify new technologies and techniques to cost-effectively improve inspection processes• Maintain overall control and cognizance of the training program; Develop training outlines and examination materials; Conduct classroom training and proctor examination; Determine equivalency of previous training, experience• Qualify/Certify inspectors; Manage records for all qualified/certified technicians• Establish facility specifications, shop layout design repair contracts, maintenance contracts, and budgets• Identify and select appropriate recapitalization of equipment to cost-effectively improve inspection processes• Establish preventative maintenance, calibration, certification oversees calibration and certificationCREDENTIALS:• American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level III in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiography Testing (RT)• National Aerospace Standard (NAS) 410, Level III in Infrared Thermography Testing (IRT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiography Testing (RT)
