Led advancement and strategy for a teacher training college, a center for human development, and the founding of a disability workforce development social enterprise. Responsibilities included fund development, board relations, government relations, grant writing, marketing, strategic partnerships, and related advancement functions. I built and led the Advancement Office securing three million dollars in the first two years of the program. Established a braided fund development model including the Alta Regional Center, Department of Rehabilitation, California Workforce Development Board (CWDB), Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE); Sacramento Employment Training Agency (SETA); San Juan Unified School District, and private foundations. Awarded state and federal grants for workforce development, disability/health care, and education. Led government relations, legislative efforts, and advocacy to develop bills, budget amendments, lobbying, and related legislative activities. Established community partnerships with health care, disability, education, and workforce development agencies and departments; fostered broad coalitions and networks. Developed an outcomes research study with University of California San Francisco (UCSF). Established funding from the California Division of Apprenticeship Standards for a specialized disability pre-apprenticeship program.
