After high school graduation I went to a tech school to be a mechanic. I attended UNOH in Lima Ohio in 1992 and worked toward the associate degree in Automotive Technology. I started at a local car dealer right after school. I worked at Southlake Dodge in 1994 and worked as a mechanic. I also worked toward and recieved my ASE Mechanic Master certifications. As time went on, I started working as a diesel/auto mechanic for US Steel in 1996. I worked on pickup trucks, semi trucks, large dump trucks, heavy equipment, earth moving equipment and forklifts. In 2006, I recieved welding training and earned structure welding certifications. After this I did bucket rebuilds for our Caterpillar 992G and Kawasaki Z115 loaders.By 2016, I was offered a parts expeditor job where I : learned to use Oracle inventory management software; managed a portion of a parts warehouse; expeditied core rebuilds; oils, fluids, and consumables management; and general parts procurement.I decided to go back to school in 2016 where I took machinist and CNC classes. I took an internal machinist job posting at US Steel and passed both a written and hands on test. I've been working in the machine shop since September 2017. I also have a few NIMS machinist certifications.
