Experienced core laboratory Director and researcher in genomics. During my 19 years’ experience as a Ph.D. molecular biologist I have worked alongside researchers in the fields of cancer biology, neuroscience, parasitology, ophthalmology, computational biology, toxicology, and basic research. Collaborators have included investigators from across institutions, including other universities, for-profit corporations, non-profit research labs, and federal government researchers such as NAMRU-D and AFRL at Wright Patterson AFB. Additionally, I have worked in a CLIA environment, having personally overseen the accreditation of part of my lab as a CAP-certified high-complexity molecular diagnostics company. I have previously published related work dealing with genome-wide analyses of gene expression, copy number variation, transcriptomics, and genotyping. As an associate professor, I have experience in teaching, mentoring, and research. I teach undergraduate, graduate, and medical school courses primarily in cancer biology and systems biology.
