I serve as a member of the executive team and oversee Information Services, Medical Records, Coding, and Clinical Engineering. I work actively with physicians and department leaders in corporate initiatives including use of systems for personal efficiency, voice recognition, computer-based documentation, clinical decision-support, meaningful use and quality measures, and elimination of paper charts. I drive innovation organizationally through collaboration with physicians and departments, with our vendor community through adoption of emerging technologies, and nationally through federal workgroups and associations.

Meadville Medical Center is a forward-thinking 235-bed sole community hospital that is constantly improving our quality of health care services, and our caring focus on the patient. We have achieved Stage 1 and Stage 2 of the Federal Government's "Meaningful Use" certification for electronic medical records in the acute setting. We are an "early adopter" for the Meditech 6.1 EMT system. We are also the first beta site for Meditech's new, fully integrated, web-based Ambulatory EMR system, giving us a single, unified view of patient data across all settings of care. We were certified by HIMMS as level 5 on their maturity scale, placing us among the top 20% of hospitals nationwide for use of technology. We are positioned to join the top 5-6% of hospitals as we certify for HIMMS level 6 on Meditech 6. We also improved several areas of IS costs helping the Information Services team to end the fiscal year as much as 13% under budget for three years in a row.I am active in the College of Health Information Management Executives (CHIME), participating in the public policy planning and leadership activities including CHIME responses to federal policy and legislative initiatives, presentations for Federal legislative staff, and contribution to policy position papers. I have also served on CHIME scholarship and conference planning committees for CHIME educational events.

Responsible for all 180+ clinical and administrative applications of the medical center, including Meditech 6.0, PICIS Emergency and Surgical EMR systems, eCW outpatient EMR, GE Centricity PACS, Phillips CVIS, API Human Resource Management (HRM), payroll and scheduling/timekeeping, Midas, Crimson, Summit Health interface engine, ARIA Oncology EMR, GE Centricity Peri-natal (CPN), Omnicell/OmniLink Rx, Microsoft SQL and Oracle Databases, Microsoft SharePoint intranets, etc.- Converted from Meditech systems from Magic to 6.0- Manage technology planning process- Manage IS budget planning process- Focused on multiple implementations to achieve ARRA Meaningful Use and HIMMS maturity level 7.

Responsible for the IT organization, services, strategies and budget, and for Facilities team managing 35 locations. Also carried periodic responsibilities for Finance, Budget, and HR. Achievements include major application implementations, security improvements, business continuity planning, business process streamlining, on-going IT cost reductions and controls, and system reliability and up-time improvements.
