San Storage Administrator
Key Responsibilities:• Troubleshooting Unix, Linux and Windows SAN connectivity issues.• Troubleshooting Unix, Linux and Windows SAN performance issues.• Handling SAN Disaster Recovery/DR Tests for Unix, Linux and Windows systems. This involved splitting clones from mirrored volumes and presenting these devices to the relevant DR host.• Storage provision for new servers, including all relevant switch port configuration and zoning updates.• Storage reclamation for decomissioned servers, including all relevant switch port configuration and zoning updates.• Monitor and action incident, service request and change management queues and requests.• Raise changes for relevant work and present to a weekly change advisory board for review and approval.• Organise access to Data Centres for vendor maintenance on switches and arrays.• Dedicated DFR (Defence Force Recruiting) resource responsible for the production and DR/Test SAN and BUR environments. This encompassed storage provision and removal, storage increases, array/switch maintenance, array/switch code/firmware upgrades. • Enterprise array code upgrades. Organising code upgrades in conjunction with vendors, host support and customers to ensure minimal impact to running services, processes and business.• Customer, technology and process documentation written and updated for team's workgroup handbook.• Organising and performing one on one face to face and group teleconference/shared desktop training for interstate team members.• BAU and after hours resource in a major site wide data migration project from EMC DMX and Clariion arrays to new HP P9500 arrays. Also migrating from Cisco MDS to Brocade DCX SAN fabrics.• Provide after hours ‘On Call’ support including coverage for any high severity issues or scheduled after hours work.• Team Change Management/ITIL SME.
