An equal opportunity is given to all that attend the university and we hope that you will all take our excellent managing skills and use them to your advantage on the field.The Students Sport Committee organises events such as Big Brag, Intervarsity between the University of Johannesburg and University of Pretoria, the residence leagues, priority sports and recreational sports meetings throughout the year.As Vice Chair (internal) and Secretary, I set the agenda for all meetings, write, type, distribute minutes to all members of the committee, distribute information from all stakeholders to the relevant portfolio member concerned and making sure that all portfolios are functioning well, internal communication amongst members goes unhindered, and make sure that committee members know what to do and when.

The Independent Monitoring Body at the University of Pretoria is the official body which is responsible for making sure that all election procedures are being followed by the various candidates for the parliamentary elections, i.e. faculty, society, residences constituencies. It is chaired by the Dean of Students; other members came from the law faculty, Vice Principals office, and the Student Representative Council amongst others.We heard complaints from the different constituencies and if a matter had far reaching consequences we referred the matter to the Special Election Court which is chaired by the Vice Principal for Teaching and Learning. After the elections, it is this body that declares elections free and fair; thereafter the results are released to the student community.A sound knowledge of the Constitution of the Republic, Bill of Rights, the Constitution of Student Governance at the university is vital as the body applies rules found in the above mentioned texts to clear disputes regarding the elections.
