Expertise in designing and operating custom sensor systems, locating targets with commercial geophysical tools, confirming targets with a wide range of interdiction methods, mapping, operational planning and robotic exploration. Successes leverage extensive multi-year experience on the Egypt-Gaza border, Afghanistan and Iraq.

Team of engineers and accountants executed an audit of Xcel Energy's commercial and residential Extension Agreement program to determine status of financial liabilities and customer receipts. Successful on-time completion of effort required extensive use of Smallworld GIS and engineering to analyze gas and electric distribution system designs and as-built infrastructure.

Provided technical consultative advice on all aspects of programs and proposals. Led development and delivery of selected products after contract award. Utilized background in force protection technologies supporting perimeter security through subsurface/tunnel threat detection, exploitation and remediation.

Provided program management, technology development, prototype field testing, user training and performance evaluations to US DoD. Awarded over $22M in prime and $0.3M in subcontracts.Led on-site installation, experiments, training, initial operations, transfer of ownership and follow-on support of a tunnel detection system on the Egypt-Gaza border from June 2008 to September 2012.Planned and led subterranean technical experiments in Afghanistan between July 2011 and October 2012. Used geophysical, robotic and GPS technologies.Provided engineering, field testing and performance analysis expertise to the Technical Integrated Product Team for the Army Common Remotely Operated Weapon System (CROWS I) from July 2006 to June 2007.

Led multi-agency teams of military and civilian personnel on tunnel detection R&D missions in Iraq (Camp Bucca and Abu Ghraib) July - November 2005.Performed technical and product feasibility assessments for soldier systems and tactical sensors. Provided recommendations to the Commander and Division Chiefs.Advised and assisted Project Officers on technical approach, program planning and testing.Managed counter-improvised explosive device jammer program.

Initiated and managed multiple sensor and weapon lethality programs within the Advanced Technology Office and Information Exploitation Office. Operational emphasis included medium caliber high rate of fire cannons and supersonic maneuvering munitions, unattended ground sensors for detection, tracking and identification of tactical vehicles with transition to Army and Air Force, weapon-borne battle damage assessment sensors, soldier-launched loiter and attack medium caliber munitions, and novel methods to hold deeply-buried targets at risk

Principle Investigator for a micro-robot payload program under the DARPA Defense Science Office's Controlled Biological Systems program. Developed concept, led teams of US Army researchers, executed live-fire experiments.Managed weapon control improvements to the Apache M230 chain gun, Abrams main armament and HMMWV turret. Technologies included electric drives, smart material-based actuators and digital control. Founder of the Advanced Drives and Weapon Stabilization Lab featuring 10,000 ft2 of office and lab space. Equipment included (2) HMMWVs, (1) M1A1, (1) M230 gun and (3) stabilized 0.50 cal guns.Principle Investigator for (2) in-house laboratory research programs focused on guidance and control of smart munitions and improving fire control ballistic calculations thru sensors embedded in munitions.

Designed, fabricated and installed a custom equilibrator system for a prototype M1A1 140mm barrel.Supported digital gun control design under the Integrated Air-to-Air Weapon System program. Replaced Apache analog gun control with digital system. Concluded with air-to-air engagements against drones.Conducted research in reduced order, non-linear and adaptive servo control systems. Managed joint collaborations with University and SBIR researchers.
