Composite Training CoordinatorRevenge Advanced Composites Apr 2006 - Jun 2008Clearwater FloridaI created and implemented a training curriculum as applied to the manufacture of Maritime vessels constructed of advanced composites and epoxy resin. The training curriculum covered the following: Fibers familiarization, resins and adhesives, resin infusion application, vacuum bag construction and application, pre-impregnated (pre-preg) advanced composite handling and processing, mold preparation, tooling fabrication, and machining of advanced composites. I created a “build book” for each of 55 components and subassembly that include every step needed to fabricate that part. The books referenced the correct coatings, laminate schedule, fabrication method, trimming and complete assembly of the entire vessel by using Autocad drawings, photos with text references and procedural checklists requiring a Quality Assurance inspection. I manufactured prototype materials for testing by the University of Delaware Center for Composite Materials (to satisfy government contract requirements), and tested procedures to deem viable for inclusion in current methodologies. I inventoried all material and hardware and entered them into a computer database (SYSPRO 6.0) for use with purchase orders, inventory tracking, and costs/assets analysis.

Advanced Composite Training LeaderNaval Aviation Depot Sep 1996 - Mar 2006Cherry Point Mcas, NcI performed all the duties and tasks of an Advanced Composite Fabricator, with the additional duties of training Fleet, Contractor, Civilian personnel (sheet metal apprentices, CO-Ops, worker to journeyman) in the theory and practices of metal bonding/surface preparation (category A), fiberglass repair (category B), honeycomb repair (category C), advanced composite repair (category D), and the use of sealants and adhesives. I worked with Aircraft Examiners (E&E), Industrial Engineering Technicians (IET), Quality Assurance specialists (QA), and Engineers to develop and implement router documents for parts and subassemblies belonging to new programs such as; AH-1 REMAN (upgrade), UH-1 REMAN (upgrade) and Customer Service (V-22 Osprey). Working with the above-mentioned personnel, I assisted in assuring that the proper technical publications, work locations, sequences, estimated labor, and processes are referenced on the work documents, as applied to fiberglass and composite repair. I worked with various engineers from all aircraft platforms, to prototype first article production and repairs, test new materials for inclusion in technical manuals and local publications, develop complex repairs for testing purposes, and to create lesson plans for training purposes. I continually revised and updated the training curriculum, to reflect the new materials and processes being utilized. I maintained the shop personnel’s Individual Qualification Records (IQRs), special skills certifications (category A, B, C, D) and notices of training due. I tracked those needs through the NADEP intranet. I excel at using computers and I am proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, Power-point, as well as correspondence through Microsoft Outlook. I administered tests, both written and practical, to keep shop and other personnel’s certifications current.
