As general counsel/corporate secretary, Mr. McAuliffe was a member of Oxbow’s senior executive team reporting directly to the CEO and/or president. Responsible for leading and managing the legal, environmental, health & safety, government relations, security, compliance and corporate communications functions of Oxbow. Oxbow has several billion dollars in annual revenue, has offices in over 25 countries and conducts business in approximately 100 countries. Oxbow, which is privately held, is one of the world’s leading independent distributors/sellers of energy commodities and by-products. Oxbow has operating assets in the US, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Kuwait, the Netherlands, China and the UK. During tenure as GC/secretary, Mr. McAuliffe, among other accomplishments, reorganized the health & safety department, oversaw the creation and development of a global corporate compliance initiative, and successfully managed several material and sensitive litigation and related matters for the company. Mr. McAuliffe was a member of the core team that significantly reduced SG&A throughout company.

Elected prosecutor and chief law enforcement official for Fifteenth Judicial Circuit (Palm Beach County with population of over 1.3 million). Responsible for leading, managing and supervising over 120 attorneys and 200 support staff across five offices. The State Attorney's Office is one of the 40 largest prosecutor offices in the nation with over 100,000 total criminal matters handled per year. Responsible for creation of public corruption unit, sexual predator/special victims unit (SVU), gang unit and prescription drug trafficking unit. Developed and implemented a significant reorganization of the office and increased prosecutors in courtrooms by 25% during time that the office's legislatively appropriated budget was reduced by almost 15%. Developed and implemented numerous management initiatives including written performance, recruitment, development and retention plans to improve efficiency and performance. Notable cases during tenure include one of the nation’s first successful prosecutions of a pain clinic owner and manager for murder and drug trafficking regarding the overdose death of a patient. Office also successfully prosecuted county commissioner and other officials on public corruption charges and numerous significant RICO based gang and violent crime cases. Personally tried and successfully prosecuted one of South Florida’s notorious gang members in an infamous case known as the “Dunkin Donuts” robbery/attempted murder case resulting in the defendant receiving nine consecutive life sentences. Also, led office's efforts in the successful prosecution of defendant Paul Michael Merhige in the Thanksgiving Day massacre case in Jupiter, Florida.

Firm became McAuliffe Law Group, PL, when law partner became circuit judge. During 2007-08, engaged by a legal client to lead the development and launch of the Sari Center, an integrative cancer therapies center in West Palm Beach, Florida, to assist cancer patients during treatment.

Federal prosecutor responsible for investigating and prosecuting federal crimes including crimes of violence, drug cases, public corruption and white collar fraud. Promoted to section chief in 1997.

Responsible for assisting in the establishment of a reform law school at Zapadoceska Universita (University of West Bohemia) and teaching Czech law students The American Constitution and Anglo-American Legal Systems. CEP, sponsored at the time, in part, by Yale University and the Central European University (CEU), sent professionals to Central/Eastern Europe to assist in reform projects in the emerging democracies. Provided counsel to Office of the Czech President and various members of the Czech Parliament during 1993-94.

Selected to join Justice Department through its Honor Program. Responsible for the investigation and prosecution of violations of the federal criminal statutes including cases involving domestic terrorism, animus-based violence, involuntary servitude and official misconduct. Cases of national significance included U.S. v. Anton Anderson, et. al (federal law enforcement corruption case) and U.S. v. Pierce, et. al. (racial violence case involving the former grand dragon of the Louisiana Ku Klux Klan). Position included a rotation as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney prosecuting local criminal offenses in Superior Court in Washington, D.C.
