I am a veteran of the United States Army. My highest honor was recieving the Purple Heart medal from President George W. Bush Jr. for wounds I sustained while fighting in Iraq. I spent 8 years in the metallurgical coal industry until I was laid off in 2016 because of a drop in the coal market. While in the mines, I was an Underground Maintenance foreman, whose responsibilities ranged from supervising a crew of electricians in repairing diesel equipment, troubleshooting low to high voltage circuits and keeping everything operating for a multimillion dollar company during my shift. After the market collapsed and I was laid off, I got into landscaping. I have earned a certificate of completion from the New Hampshire based Organic Lawn Care Institute. I am also certified by the state of Alabama in Ornamental Turf and Pesticide control. I am currently using my GI Bill and am enrolled at Penn State World Campus where I am working towards finishing my degree in turf grass science and management. Being in the military has taught me how to work around many different people in many different and challenging environments. I always strive for success. I aim to bring whatever tools I can to the team that I am on, with hopes of getting the WIN.

Bessemer Alabama
As an enhancement field manager my job is to report to my account manager daily, to get a summary for the days work, then to complete all jobs efficiently but more importantly safely. Then, to report to my supervisor on what materials are needed for the job and also report on job status. I am also responsible for keeping up with hours worked and time spent on job sites. Duties range from, pruning, clean-up, operation of medium sized equipment, plant installation, hardscapes and more.
Brookwood Alabama
I spent my first two years in the electrical program where I recieved state and federal certifications for underground electrician status. I was the leader of a crew of electricians whose primary focus was to keep the production going. This ranged from everything to keeping diesel engines operable to keeping Highvoltage Power centers maintained and permissable. We were responsible for installing new power centers and powering up new belt lines by installing AC motors and keeping them maintained. Aside from routine break and fix we were also responsible for weekly and monthly checks that were to be documented in federal log books weekly to monthly. I was also responsible for giving weekly safety meetings to over 100 people at a time.
All Over The World
I started from the bottom as do all enlistees. My time in service took me all over the world. I spent some time in South Korea study and training on counter landmine warfare. I did one tour of Iraq where I was part of a Route clearance team. Our job in Iraq was to find, neutralize and destroy all Improvised explosive devices (roadside bombs) to save civilian, coalition and American lives and property. on august 14th I was wounded in a gunfight and later received a purple heart from president George W. Bush Jr. I also received two army commendation medals and the Iron talon award for finding more than five roadside bombs while in Iraq. The military taught me many values that I carry with me every day. I was honorably discharged.
