Born and raised in Brighton Ontario, Mike McConnell discovered his musical talent at an early age while singing for his church. Once the performing bug started it could not be stopped. Mimicking the singing styles of Bing Crosby and the guitar rhythms of Gene Autry, he practiced his craft as a young man before establishing himself as a professional musician in Toronto. Mike has often been compared to Willie Nelson.For the past seventeen years, he has been performing for seniors in and around the Greater Toronto Area at both retirement and long term care residences. Mike enjoys taking his audience on a trip down memory lane, performing a variety of styles and songs from the last one hundred years.Mike brings to each performance his genuine love of music and entertaining. In the past, he has been a solo performer and fronted several bands. He has performed for such luminaries as Queen Elizabeth and alongside such greats as Kenny Rogers, Tony Kingston and Carol Baker. Mike’s single ‘Down Comes the Gavel’ was on Canada’s Top 40 Country Charts in 1969. He has released five pop albums.Senior’s often comment on Mike’s show: “I had such a pleasant time.
