I am a highly experienced chair yoga and mindful meditation coach of both individuals and groups. My style of coaching (and teaching to beginners) is very gentle and enquiry driven, carefully tailored to the needs and wants of each client.I offer both online and offline sessions, lifestyle coaching and advice with a strong emphasis on mental health. I have a vast experience teaching and coaching in higher education settings, blue chip companies and government departments.I am also an established artist and poet whose work has been exhibited at many venues and published in many anthologies respectively. I have two mental health themed books in the pipeline due to be published by the end of 2025.

During the first 8 weeks of my tenure I refreshed, engaged and motivated the existing team to help me turn the business around. We went from -4% YTD Sales to +4% in the first 8 weeks, much to the directors’ delight, and the success story was well on it’s way: The rest, as they say, was history!Very simply, I continued to recruit and engage the right people with the right skillset (and, more importantly, mindset) to grow a customer-centric business. The Company itself went through a massive period of right-sizing and rapid change, so I seized and relished the challenge, and used the energy of the change process (selling this to my team, with my own micro vision of how we could physically deliver the Company's macro vision). The new, dynamic head office team were consistently delighted that I was able to turn the business around at branch level and keep the Host Department Store management extremely happy too. The directors were delighted on a consistent basis. In 1993, for every £1 we took our nearest and strongest competitor took £4. By the time I left the business in 2003 it was the complete opposite: we took £4 for every £1 they took and we also saw off a number of competitors by utilising the simple, common-sense formula of working collaboratively with many people on many levels. To me, retail is all about the human experience, and -ultimately- building successful relationships.I am very proud that every test shop my team and I had was 100% successful, from both Aquascutum and the host company. “The customer is always right” is a motto I live by, and it produces the most amazing results! Customer-centric focus, exceeding KPIs, achieving consistently superb P&L results.I never had to fire a member of staff or ban a customer as I empowered all my staff to take 100% responsibility for their own actions. Good retailing, to me, is all about the relationship: fairness, consistency and delivery. Get these things right and the business takes care of itself.

I set up and ran the company’s new retail outlets, hiring and training staff in the delivery of premium customer service with succession planning in mind.I actively assisted in the buying process and was responsible for selecting some of the best selling ranges with the most profitable margins.I also worked directly with the managing director on factory visits, site visits, P&L, KPIs and quality control (both product and five star service delivery).

I ran my own pre-internet music mail order & retail business (Compact Discs and Cassettes) as a sole trader, trading as Simply Compact, having worked at Virgin Records to gain relevant experience. I also also use the experience gained on the highly coveted, immersive Graduate Enterprise Programme residential course for finance procurement, set-up, legal, marketing, cost control, sales, logistics and a whole lot more. It was also a fantastic networking opportunity before the days of the internet and LinkedIn! I met some amazing people and made friends for life.I successfully sold the business just two weeks before the stock market crash on October 13th 1989. I knew something was going wrong when advertising spend was going up but sales were going down. My decision to sell was based on this and a gut instinct that something wasn’t right in the market. From that point onwards, I have always trusted my gut instinct in business!
