I am currently employed as a maintenance consultant engineer in Glaxo Smith Kline pharmaceutical plant in Irvine, Ayrshire. I liaise with the project managers on a weekly basis to discuss all upcoming new projects and I then prioritise which projects that I will devote my time to depending on criticality and when the project is due for completion. I obtain a copy of the project and all the relevant drawings.I then request through the SAP system for new function locations, equipment numbers, maintenance plans and task lists for all the new equipment that is being installed and request that all redundant equipment and associated task lists, maintenance plans and materials in the equipment bill of materials are removed from the SAP system. I then suggest required spares that should be added to the bill of materials for each new piece of equipment and if agreed with the project managers I then request the materials to be added into the SAP system.
