Recruited by a head-hunter to affect turnaround. Developed and implemented a two year plan including a major corporate restructure and refinancing that lead to first profits in three years. Following tenure as Interim CEO, Michael became non-executive advisor to the board until 2011.

Streamwise is a Business Consultancy specialising in growth strategy solutions. Michael’s role was as a Senior Strategic Advisor in the SME Growth Division working with owners of emerging companies.

Mayfair Artists is a children’s art and craft goods manufacturer and distributor. As Commercial Director, Michael established the business as number two in the UK market with 15% annual growth for five consecutive years. He then supervised international expansion via setting up a wholly-owned foreign enterprise in China as well as offices in the EU and USA.

Founded and acted as Non Exec Director while working concurrently for Mayfair Artists. The company was profitable within three months with sales exceeding $6M in the second year. The business was successfully sold in December 2004 (7 figure consideration).

Upon invitation by the Trustees to take up a new commercial role at this Not-For-Profit publishing company, Michael facilitated a 49% increase in circulation, the establishment of a new book selling division, and a new service providing prisoners with access to books throughout UK and Ireland.

Oversaw a sixfold increase in turnover in three years as supplier to M&S and Tesco. Exited day to day role in 1996.

Founded one of the first British owned and operated Pizza Home Delivery companies in the UK. Grew the business to $36M turnover with 84 shops and 20% market share within 5 years before successfully selling to the market leader in 1992.
