In 2021, TURSA embarked on a Business Transformation (BT) project which incorporated a complete technology refresh across all of its systems. TURSA selected Microsoft Technologies for this endeavour and had embarked on extensive PowerApp development, MS*CRM/CE rollout, Power*BI reporting initiatives and was upskilling across a range of other Microsoft Dataverse technologies. They had undertaken extensive interface development with government employment systems and other third party systems prior to our involvement. In October 2022, as part of the BT project, TURSA selected Business Central (BC) ERP Cloud to replace their legacy Great Plains (GP) application which was 'end-of-life' and being pro-actively retired.I was the BC ERP (Cloud) Project Lead for this deployment and headed a team of 4 x BC Consultants and 1 x BC Developer in this project. The project required extensive 'two-way' integration with the PowerApps already built and extensive Dataverse integration with MS*CRM/CE and across the Microsoft Stack. This was a high-volume transaction environment, dealing with sensitive personal data for Employment & Disability Services recipients across the whole of NSW.As part of the BC implementation, we undertook a significant extension development involving a muti-layered cost allocation engine which was automated to perform a combination of 'live-posting' and month-end 'batch' allocations across all functional modules within BC. This development replaced a myriad spreadsheets and manual data extraction, allocation calculation and manual re-posting processes which were previously highly user-intensive, time-consuming and inconsistent. The automation undertaken in this area resulted in major process improvements, operational efficiencies, time savings, and other benefits at TURSA. The BT project is ongoing into other technology areas of the business and will enable TURSA to readily embrace AI technologies as they become more available.

Insurance Advisernet Australia (IAA) selected Business Central (Cloud) ERP to replace their legacy Great Plains (GP) product which was 'end-of-life' and no longer being supported by Microsoft. This project included the deployment of most financial modules within BC (GL/AR/AP/BK/FA/PO Approvals/Workflows/Email integration etc) and required interfaces to be built between BC and their core Insurance Policy Management and Control system.IAA represent an extensive array of associated Insurance Brokers (700+) across Australia and New Zealand and needed to account for 15+ entities in their financial group. BC was successfully deployed across all entities in the Group and enabled the complete retirement of the GP product at IAA.A key component of this BC deployment was a significant BC Extension development undertaken to automate the bi-monthly calculation and settlement of all Broker commission payments across the Broker network in both Australia and New Zealand. It also included a configurable 'Deductions' engine, to enable automated calculation and offset of valid deductions against broker settlement payments, using a variety of redemption methods and profiles. This Extension development delivered incredible process improvement, operational efficiencies and ROI for IAA, as an intrinsic component of the BC ERP implementation project. The BC Extension also interfaced all source transaction documents created during each periodic Settlement run (Invoices, Credit Notes, Automated Deductions and EFT Remittances) into a Self-Service Sharepoint Portal for Brokers to access, view and download for reconciliation purposes, as often as required and at any time.

Partnered with Apache.com to deliver an 'end-to-end' Business Central (Cloud) ERP implementation as an integral part of a full Business Transformation (BT) project at Fencepac Group. The wider project included MS*CRM/CE, Contact & Opportunity Management, Power Platform, PowerApp developments, PowerBI reporting and extensive Dataverse integration across the whole MS Stack. The Business Central (BC20) rollout encompassed 5 corporate entities, covering an extensive suite of modules and functional areas (GL/AR/AP/IN/FA/Jobs/ PO Approvals/Workflows/Email integration etc) as well as extensive Intercompany transaction processing, inter-entity eliminations and Group financial consolidations. Microsoft produced a Case Study video and brochure-ware, showcasing this site as a market-leading example of successful Business Transformation using an extensive range of Microsoft technologies and applications. The Fencepac Group had grown organically and by acquisition over a number of years and had a plethora of financial applications in use across their five entities (Timberline, Sage, MYOB, Great Plains etc). The goal of the Business Transformation project was to migrate all of these applications into one fully integrated, multi-entity, Business Central DB environment. This was comfortably achieved and positions the Group well for adopting IOT and AI technologies into their platform in the future, as they continue to evolve.
