The I.A.M project wants to not only focus on literacy regarding reading and comprehension, but also for basic life skills. Many public high schools teach students the basic educational requirements to either obtain a job or to advance their education. These schools do not offer their students the basic fundamentals of living and thriving in the real world. This is especially true concerning students who attend school in underprivileged, low income areas and districts. Our goal, as an organization is to inspire those who seek the tools they need to succeed through self-enrichment and literacy education. The I Am Project focuses primarily on an individual’s goals, strengths, desires and personal journey to becoming a productive citizen with hopes of being a contributor to the world we live in. Motivating the youth to take responsibility for their own actions, in our opinion is a dynamic Segway to establishing a leading platform for their future; and our program is parallel to holding the mirror up so the view of their own reflection serves as a reminder that their success in life is their choice and no one else’s. Literacy is the seed that must be planted for a bountiful harvest and a life fulfilled is a life created from the opportunities that education and self-awareness brings to the table. The I Am Project is dedicated to advocating literacy, entrepreneurship and self-accountability by inspiring the youth to aim high and respect intelligence along with them-selves for the most part. It is our goal to strengthen communities and households throughout the country, and the world with intentions to convert followers into leaders and inferior minds into innovative thinkers.
