I am the senior researcher in the laboratory of Prof. John Hayes. I am responsible for strategic direction, project conception and project implementation with regards to research on the tumour suppressor protein, Keap1.Key responsibilities:1. Strategic direction of lab. 2. Oversee the conception, implementation and completion of multiple research projects, including:- Supervision of staff, including multiple post-doctoral researchers, PhD students and technicians.- Drafting, polishing and communication of project results.2. Establishing new research opportunities.3. Securing research funding.4. Financial management including:- Full Economic Costing of research proposals.- dispensing a budget of ~ £36K per year in my current post.5. General administrative tasks including acting as a peer-reviewer for grant-awarding bodies and journals.Achievements:1. Changed the focus of the lab from protein-purification to molecular- and cellular biology. As a result of this restructuring, the lab has become one of the worlds leading centres for research into the tumour suppressor protein, Keap1.2. Published over 25 highly influential papers in prestigious journals.3. My work directly led to four consecutive three-year project grants for my supervisor, totalling ~£500K.4. Personally secured ~£90K in research funding.

Responsible for clinical tests on samples from sick infants and the rapid communication of results to the relevant doctors.

Prepared SOP and specification sheets, in preparation for ISO 9000 accreditation.

Successfully worked as part of a team responsible for the production of large-scale fermentation broths.
