I am a Gottman certified relationship therapist (2005).As an independent contractor: I provide consultation to other therapists seeking Gottman certification (2006-present)I am a Gottman Certified Trainer, which means I am certified to present all three levels of The Gottman Method. I am one of the group first five clinicians chosen as a "top trainer" for The Gottman Institute, meaning that I was among the first group of Gottman certified relationship therapists chosen to provide all levels of Gottman training to professionals. I have a lot of experience with Gottman training. Chicago is the area where I present most often. I have led Gottman trainings at the Professional Development Program at The School of Social Service Administration at the University of Chicago since 2005, and at other Chicago area institutions. I have also led Gottman trainings in other states, and abroad.

I provide counseling and psychotherapy to adolescents & adults (March, 1993-present). I specialize in psychoanalytically informed psychotherapy with individuals.Over 50% of my clinical work is couples therapy, I blend The Gottman Method with a psychoanalytically informed approach to psychotherapy. I also have training in Emotion Focused Couple Therapy and draw up on that method in my work.In addition to the workshops and professional trainings that I lead through The Gottman Institute, I also provide training to consumers, parents, and professionals on such issues as the emotional aspects of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Learning Disabilities.

After the tsunami, I traveled to Sri Lanka twice a year to support the Professional Psychological Counselling Centre of Batticaloa.With support from The Chicago School, from 2008-2011, I taught Sri Lankan lay counselors courses on basic counseling skills. I also developed and taught (2008-2009) a course called "International Perspectives on Mental Health," which involves taking students to Sri Lanka as part of the course plan. I also taught "Couples Therapy" (2006-2008) and "Psychopathology" (2003-2006) at The Chicago School.
