Responsible for all manufacturing within the aluminothermic and silicothermic production area as well as capital projects and improvement projects. Maintaining and creating technical documentation such as product data sheets, training instructions and specifications. Defining and implementing cost savings and process improvements. Managing a budget for day to day running of the area and capital approval processes for procuring new machinery. Providing support to the manufacturing teams and lines. Responsible for QC/QA in the work place and project management and commissioning of engineering equipment. Supervisor for radiological protection.

Work experience gained in specimen techniques including foil preparation and use of chemicals, theoretical and practical training in scanning / transmission electron microscopy; use of x-ray diffraction equipment; interpretation of results. Responsible for maintaining, monitoring and training on electron microscopes and X-ray analytical equipment at The Central Electricity Research Laboratories, Leatherhead, and Surrey.

Role - supporting research and engineering staff investigate plant / component failures at power generating plants. Experience gained in power station chemistry laboratory, mechanical maintenance department at Belvedere and Kingsnorth power stations. On-site engineering failure investigation at Grain, Tilbury, Dungeness and Sizewell power stations.
