I am an experienced writer with a demonstrated history of publishing, research and personal engagement. I am skilled in editing print and online publications, marketing, as well as editing print, radio and television programs. I am a strong creative professional with experience in media production, lecturing/social media through roles held in various media companies and education institutions. A Bachelor's degree in journalism from University of Queensland and a PhD in media and race relations from Griffith University in Australia. I am the author of numerous academic books, book chapters, journal articles, conference papers, research reports and submissions. I self-published a hard cover book on the emergence of climbing in Australia in 2015, following this up with an online version published through Apple Books in 2022. I have also written a range of fiction titles including a young adult story (The mystery of Red Sands), a spy-mystery (Secrets), and a series of three cli-fi-orientated adventure-romance novels featuring some of the same characters: The gift, The inheritance and The bequest. The fictional works are drawn from my many years spent bushwalking and climbing in the mountain landscapes of Australia and internationally.   I set up as a sole trader in 2007 primarily to self-publish 'The Living Rock: the invention of climbing in eastern Australia'. Hard copies of that book sold out in 2020. The stories range from a journalism/spy drama-romance set against a backdrop of East Timorese independence ('Secrets'), to a series of three books involving some of the same characters: 'The gift' and 'The inheritance' and 'The bequest'. The stories engage with broad environmental questions like climate change with a touch of romance. Of course, climbing and outdoor activities feature in each of the novels in the trilogy. The stories are set in locations around Southeast Queensland, the Southern Alps of New Zealand and the in the Tasmanian wilderness.
