This Construction Manager is responsible for projects within the department that require construction activities out on site nominally around utilities and utility diversion but not exclusive to utilities. Initially contracted to “trouble shoot” inherent problems/flaws within the contract and the project team, which at the time was £5,000,000 in debt and 18 months behind schedule. Based upon initial consultation period, I was invited to take control of the contract as Project Construction Manager. Following a restructure of the contract and replacement of existing project team the project was delivered 1 month ahead of schedule and £600,000 under budget.• Complete responsibility for the refurbishment of BBC HF British Eastern Mediterranean Relay Station Cyprus, encompassing building, civil and construction of 57 number HF arrays and associated steel structures.• Management of entire team of construction staff (up to 100 operatives on site at any given period). • Negotiation of all specialist contractor agreements (up to 15 at any time) and all subcontract agreements.• Responsibility for implementation and maintenance of all UK HSE legislation whilst based overseas. • Assessing work requirements and preparing detailed programme/works schedule. • Attending quarterly board level meetings with BBC World in UK to report progress against works schedule. • Liaising with British Foreign Office and MOD ensuring all security procedures/safety instruction were adhered too.• Sole responsibility for all HR issues, including interviewing and selection of staff, payroll and employee relations
