The company is also the largest oil re-refiner in North America and a leader in emergency spill response. This role involved direct responsibility for all aspects of the Delta Recycle Facility, which is one of the only eight (8) Recycle Centres in the Safety-Kleen North American network, where waste from all other facilities is routed to for treatment and disposal. Some of the most advanced hazardous waste treatment systems in North American are utilized at this facility, including electrocoagulation for industrial wastewater treatment. Responsibilities included all facets of the business including Operations, P&L, Sales and Customer Service, Human Resources, Regulatory Compliance, QA/QC, Training, Health and Safety and Environmental Compliance. Direct report was to one of the company Senior Vice Presidents. For year 2012, P&L Target was exceeded by more than 1 million dollars to the positive. During tenure with this position, many new LOB were added, including a spent fuel blend program, a used oil filter recycling program, a solvent distillation system, as well as a packaged waste processing system. In addition, the facility was awarded the Elite Safety Performance Award as chosen by the CEO, and Lean Green Belt Certification for the facility was achieved.

Operations ManagerSafety-Kleen Canada Inc. Jan 2007 - Jan 2009Responsibilities with this position included all day to day operations of the facility, reporting directly to the General Manager. Duties included environmental compliance of the facility and liaison with all regulating agencies, project management, QA/QC, customer service and technical operations. In addition, this position oversaw the Health and Safety Program for the facility and training of staff. Also acted as project Team Lead for a 2 Million Dollar expansion of the facility in 2008, including a major upgrade to the industrial wastewater treatment system.

Jan 1998 - Jan 2001This position provided leadership to the Site Investigation Division, which was responsible for the investigation of contaminated sites. Responsibilities of the position included managing and reviewing Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 site investigations, soil and groundwater monitoring programs, underground storage tank removals, hazardous building materials assessments and risk assessments. Many of the projects involved high profile sites in BC. The Division also carried out remediation of contaminated sites. With this role came the responsibility all phases of project management, including proposal preparation and costing, technical supervision, BC Ministry of Environment and client liaison, and training of junior staff. In addition, assistance was provided with the marketing, servicing and expansion of the company’s client base.
