Michael Metz is a dual fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia . He practises chemical pathology in Adelaide at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital site of SA Pathology and at Clinpath Laboratories where he is director of clinical chemistry. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, trained in paediatrics at the University of Minnesota and in chemical pathology in Adelaide at the Women’s & Children’s Hospital and the Institute of Medical and Veterinary Science. He is a foundation member of the AACB Paediatric Special Interest Group and is chairman of the RCPA QAP sweat testing working party. He is a member of the advisory board of the Atherosclerosis Australasia Familial Hypercholesterolaemia Registry and is the sole consultant at the lipid clinic of the WCH. He is a clinical senior lecturer at the University of Adelaide School of Paediatrics and Reproductive Health. He is the chairman of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry Task Force on Pediatric Laboratory Medicine. Mostly he likes looking after the kids.
