I represent businesses and individuals in complex disputes in both trial and appellate courts across the country. Drawing on my experiences as a law clerk, as a lawyer in state government, and from 12 years in private practice, my approach to litigation focuses on the issues and facts that drive positive outcomes for my clients.

ACS is a nationwide network of lawyers, judges, scholars, and students promoting the vitality of the U.S. Constitution and the fundamental values it expresses: individual rights and liberties, genuine equality, access to justice, democracy and the rule of law.After co-founding the Stanford Law School Chapter during law school, I have served on the Executive Boards of ACS Lawyers' Chapters in three cities. I was a co-founder of the Columbus Lawyers' Chapter in 2007 and 2008. After moving to Washington, I served on the D.C. Lawyers' Chapter in 2009 and 2010. And when I returned home to Cleveland, I joined the board of the Northeast Ohio Chapter, where I served as Vice President (2011-'13) and President (2014-'16). During that period, the Northeast Ohio Chapter won ACS's National Programming Award (2015) and National Chapter of the Year Award (2016).

I represent businesses in complex commercial disputes through all stages of the litigation process, from filing initial pleadings through discovery, dispositive motions, trial, and appeal.

With an emphasis on clear, persuasive writing, I taught a section of the Appellate Practice course at Case Western Reserve University School of Law. My students learned the principles of appellate jurisdiction, the Federal Rules of Appellate Practice, and the art of persuading appellate judges in briefing and in oral argument.

I represented corporate clients as both plaintiffs and defendants in class actions. In addition to supervising discovery, I drafted briefs, including a successful summary-judgment opposition in a multi-billion-dollar antitrust case and a successful motion for class certification in a multi-billion-dollar RICO case.

I assisted the Solicitor General in all facets of the appeals process, from considering amicus involvement to briefing and arguing cases. In this position, I argued two cases before the Ohio Supreme Court, winning both, and three cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, winning two.

I represented corporate clients as an associate in Skadden's Mass Torts and Complex Insurance Litigation practice group. In that capacity, I handled class actions and collective actions brought under California Business & Professions Code sec. 17200 and other legal theories.
