Working as a formulator at an adhesive factory I deal resins and chemicals On a daily basis. We have multiple customers with a wide range of application needs. With most of our business revolving around epoxies, I follow recipes that are already at its correct ratios for our customers specific needs. I also work on military sensitive jobs mixing the correct blend of a materials that coats motherboards for optimal conductivity and protective uses. Some of these materials I make have different viscosity levels, specific gravity readings and timely curing times. So following these specific recipes are detrimental considering these chemicals I mix are very expensive and scraping a batch will cost in the thousands of dollars. I also deal with fillers such as fumed silica and talcron powders. So wearing personal protective equipment such as respirators, butyl gloves and goggles is something I wear on a daily basis. Also following specific ratios within a recipe I deal with numerous scales and metric units. So there will be times I need to convert pounds to grams etc. With all this being said we are of course on time schedule. Customer service keeps the customer loyal and making pizzas from scratch brings the customer backThe responsibilities I have at Marcos pizza is everything except delivering pizzas. I can stretch the pizza all sizes from small to extra large. Next is to sauce and cheese the pizza. After that process is to top the pizza. With over 30 toppings they're unlimited combinations so being fast paced and correct is a task but this is where I shine. loading the oven is very important because it takes 6 min to cook so if someone is loading incorrect pizzas on a busy day can cause chaos. After that come cut table. We have multiple ways to cut pizzas so being knowledgeable of that is one thing but also catching mistakes at this stage is also very important. All the stages I have named I am great at and can perform on any day of the week.

The responsibilities were fruitful and rewarding. Running the Hovis Department I had to keep up with the tooling, assignment due dates, running 4 machines and hands on software updates.The responsibilities consisted of keeping up with the tooling. Producing a common part was a washer. Keeping the tooling sharp was key to producing parts to spec. 1st I would have to complete a 1st piece inspection. Sharpening the tooling is key in this process. Also the metal has to be within specs. Some assignments call for 500,000 or more so taking out the tooling to sharpen it is key to pleasing the customer. Having 12-15 jobs per week it is also key to sharpen tooling for jobs that are next. It is important to do that because all assignments have deadlines. I have 4 machines in my department so I would have all machines running some weeks. After job is done proper paper work is filed sending it to its next operation.
