Michael Meyerstein, C.F.R.E., President of The Aleph Group, founded the fundraising consulting firm in 1996, after 25 years in senior management positions with social service, advocacy, educational, and faith-based groups. He builds fundraising capacity and helps non-profits achieve their goals.Combining his passion for fundraising with a love for travel, he does pro-bono fundraising training and consulting globally. In 2014, the US Embassy and PCI Global in Botswana invited him to conduct on-site workshops. He gave workshops for New Israel Fund and ALLMEP in Israel. In 2015, he gave workshops in LIma, Peru to affiliates of international NGOs such as CARE, Inc., Habitat For Humanity, and others. In 2016, in Israel he conducted training for the NGO Practices Clinic, and consulted with a dozen NGOs engaged in education, advocacy, social services, and faith-based groups..In recent years, Meyerstein has raised $ 30 million for non-profits through annual appeals, direct mail, corporate and capital campaigns. He has produced numerous events, attended by 20,000+ guests, that netted organizations $2.5+ million. Besides campaign management, he conducts feasibility studies, Board/staff development, special event fundraising, development audits/planning,and planned giving marketing. His clients include health-related causes, private schools, advocacy/community/faith-based groups, and human service agencies. Meyerstein has been a frequent presenter with Maryland Association of Non-Profit Organizations. As past adjunct faculty at Goucher College’s Graduate and Continuing Studies Department, he taught “Major Gifts and Capital Campaigns” for several years. A past VP of Maryland Chapter AFP- Association of Fundraising Professionals, he holds internationally-recognized C.F.R.E.- Certified Fund Raising Executive credentials(AFP) and is a Standards For Excellence Institute licensed consultant. He holds six degrees, including an honorary doctorate. .
