Identify and lead process improvement activity to deliver improvements in the operating performance of clients’ operations including the development, planning and implementation of effective and efficient production processes, systems and methodologies.

•VE Plant Layout Coordinatoro Hold regular meetings with management and present plans for plant layout changes for the new VE model.•Manage Contractors for implementation of capital expense projects.•Liaise with Design Engineers to develop products that are repeatable in production and assembly to avoid quality issues.•Review engineering drawings and systems for correctness and productability and recommend change where necessary.•Prepare cost and lead time estimates for alternative process proposals for forward model costing evaluation.•Prepare process-planning sheets to determine sequence of build and test.•Conceptualise, obtain approval for, and arrange design of assembly tooling and testing facilities.•Provide and install any new equipment or revise existing equipment by utilising contractors or maintenance team.•Identify potential product problems, recommend solutions and ensure problems are corrected.•Participate in training of operators in new production techniques and equipment.•Assist Production Supervisor in methods, improvements and cost reduction targets.•Coordinate and liaise promptly with contactors in the performance of these tasks to achieve timely resolution of problems and smooth flow of work.

•Trial and implement fixes to new moulding tools as well as design robot grippers for the components.•Aid in launching new components for the new Ford facelift by designing assembly aid tools and benches fixtures.•Re-layout Body Side Moulding (BSPM) assembly area for the new Ford and Toyota BSPMs.•Liaise with Project Managers to improve any out of spec. components and bring them back to customer specifications.•Manage two staff for the documentations of the new Toyota and Ford products, Operating Instructions, Mould Guides, Internal and external packaging specifications, PCPs, FMEAs, TISs, and other specific documentations required by customers.•Manage a late project for the AWD Ford (E265-Explorer) - Bring it to timing plan and launch new product.

•Implement remedial actions for internal and Ford’s day-to-day quality issues.•Liaise with Ford Engineers, Supervisors and managers to identify solutions to various problems.•Prepare reports summarising production and quality problems, develop solutions and detail corrective actions.•Generate and report out daily PPM returned from customers to management and directors.•Liaise with customers to improve product designs (poke yoke) and/or reduce costs.•Aid in the launch of the new model Ford, by scheduling CP plan, investigating new process layouts and helping in tool trials.•Aid in the launch of Toyota Camry sports kit, map pocket insert and design of the Avalon body side mouldings.

•Improve quality and reduce cycle times.•Carry out technical investigations and apply value engineering to result in improved efficiencies.•Implement research and development activities as to ensure company’s competitiveness.•Help in initiating and overseeing the implementation of QS9000 by completing Control Plans, Set up cards, Quality check standards, standardised work charts, work instructions and operating instructions.•Develop Bill of Materials (BOM) on new products, and revised current BOM’s.•Oversee product development on existing products to improve their physical performance.•Write and update Process Control Plans (PCP’s), Failure Mode Evaluation Analysis (FMEAs), Operating Instructions, Quality Check Standards and set up sheets (QS9000 implemented in Dec 1998).•Perform process capability studies to investigate the capability of the product and rectifying process if product is not capable.•Complete PPAPs (Production Part Approval Process), and Appearance Colour Approvals for Holden, Mitsubishi and Toyota. •Prepare Off Tool Samples submissions required by Toyota, Mitsubishi and Holden.•Re-program Kawasaki Robots to enhance quality and enhance process capability in the wheel cover paint line.•Project Engineer for new product development - new Camry station wagon body side mouldings. Work with Toyota personnel to improve process control and reduce the excessive 60% rejection rates.•Enhance process control by designing jigs and fixtures for operators.•Improve layouts of process areas, to enhance efficiency, and productivity using TPS principles.
