Michael Milgram is a MS in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Construction Engineering and Management in the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science in Columbia University in the City of New York, 2013. He is also a licensed Architect graduated from Universidad Veritas, Costa Rica, 2012.For the past few years, I’ve been the General Manager of SIME, one of the biggest Electromechanical Contractors in Costa Rica with over 50 years of experience. The company has grown since my arrival, and it has double its billing, building all different types of project like industrial, commercial, residential, governmental and many more. The challenge has been inimaginable, but with good leadership and a great team we have been able to make great accomplishments.As Associate Project Manager, Michael provided Owner’s Representative services for the New Medical & Graduate Education Building (MGEB) at the Columbia University Medical Center, located in New York. The new construction of the Medical & Graduate Education Building will comprise of 107,000 gross square foot on fifteen floors plus one floor below grade. The program for the building includes 300 person auditorium, state-of-the-art assembly and classroom spaces, administrative functions, anatomy laboratory and a medical simulation / clinical skills center. Milgram was part of the team responsible of liaising between the client, construction manager, consultants and end users.Milgram received an Honorary Mention on the “Sustainable Housing for Middle Class” Contest on October 2011, awarded by International Union of Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Worked for Mallol & Mallol Arquitectos (Panama), Liberman Arquitectos, Arquitectura JOF and SIME Construcciones (Costa Rica), for a total of 4 years.While Michael was on undergraduate school, he worked his thesis in a project that combined bioclimatic strategies to lower the use of Air Conditioning in a Hot Temperature and High Humid area in Panama.
