I am a K-9 Handler and direct contact for Oquirrhberg Kennels. I currently handle a yellow Lab which I use for explosive detection. I also handle a chocolate lab for narcotic detection. We maintain contracts and provide services for private and corporate accounts, providing K-9 security services for Hotels, Convention Centers and Corporate Meetings. Some of the most recent projects I have worked on, Disney Shareholders meeting, AT&T shareholders meeting, Wells Fargo Shareholders meeting and the FIRST Robotics Convention with children from 65 countries competing. Venues I have worked at recently, Rose Wagner Theater, Grand America Hotel. America's Center and Convention Center and the Edwards Jones Dome. (Home of the St Louis Rams). We travel nationwide and are seeking new contracts. We also provide narcotics detection services. Most recent client have consisted of Oil and Drill Companies to search employee parking lots and housing. We are also seeking new contracts.

As a police officer I found law enforcement was having an issue with controlling combative and out of control individuals. I personally had an experience with a suspect dying while I was taking him into custody. I wanted to find a way to prevent officer and suspect injury along with limit the amount of property damage ot police cars and facilities. I learned suspects were were constant drug useres or individuals suffering from Excited Delirium were not able to control their ability to comply with law enforcement. During the process, some were dying. I learned a large part of the problem is the fight. If I can stop the fight or limit the amount if time fighting, I might be able to save lives, injuries and property damage. I developed theSuspect Safety Sling. The sling is able to secure the individual in a seated upright postition and can be done with minimal offiicers in a very short period of time. Once secure, the person can be transfered to a car and secured to the seat for transport to jail. Once the fight has been stopped, the person can calm down and possibly avoid falling into a state of Excited Delirium.

I began working patrol for Salt Lake City Police in 1998 and did so for seven years. I transfered to the Downtown Bike Patrol for the next three years. I am currently assigned the the Burglary / Property Cirmes Squad with a focus on Pawn Shops and Secondhand stores. I am currently on the State Pawn Board as a Law Enforcement liaison. I worked on a commitee to rewrite the current pawn law for the State of Utah and continue to work in making changes including more legislation.
