I am a technology specialist. I consult with and mentor tech startups, as well as managing one of my own. I am a retired senior innovations officer for intellectual properties at Virginia Tech and Cleveland Clinic Innovations. I provide expert technical writing and editing, including SBIR and STTR proposal preparation. I am a technology writer for the Valley Business Front magazine, and previously a freelance writer and photographer for the Roanoke Times. I often serve as a mentor for college level entrepreneur classes and as a judge for pitch competitions. I have taught writing classes at the Roanoke Regional Writers Conference. I am chair of the New River - Mount Rogers Workforce Development Board, and Chair of the Montgomery Regional Economic Development Commission. I am a member of the Access to Capital working group in the Roanoke-Blacksburg Region, and an advisor/mentor for RAMP companies.
