I managed a team of QA Engineers who tested and supported three distinct backend systems that calculate financial analytics. Our group primarily uses Python and SQL to perform functional and regression testing of complex analytics based software systems using parallel programming techniques.- I oversee, and participate in, the creation of testing frameworks and associated libraries to test financial aggregates and quantitative models built within Thomson Reuters' analytics platform.- I use Python and Java to test software systems that calculate financial aggregates, quantitative financial models, and other predictive analytics through parallel implementation, reusable metadata driven frameworks, and unit tests.- I work with software engineer leads to design software solutions that are resilient with the goal to prevent bugs from entering the code base and reducing the ``keep the lights on'' cost of the system.- I train QA Engineers on how to pair quality assurance best practices with programming best practices to effectively test applications that create a large amount of data.- I collect and analyze product usage data to find trends in usage and propose optimizations.- I work extensively with product managers and business operations to clarify requirements and bring products to market.- I use my knowledge of financial analytics to answer questions from clients that are too technical in nature for customer support, as well as questions from product managers on the best access patterns when using our analytics in products.

I worked on the front end and back end for the StarMine Professional product for investment managers. While in this position, I increased the use of automated testing techniques by other members of my team.- I was the primary QA for the novel StarMine Text Mining Credit Risk Model.- I analyzed, and gave feedback to product managers and business analysts related to, changes that were made to the Thomson Reuters Business Classification.- I tested the initial analytical and stock screening capabilities of Thomson Reuters' content aggregating platform.
